Amelie Hollier

DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP

Amelie Hollier is the chief executive officer and president of Advanced Practice Education Associates, the company she co-founded in 1997. She is a nationally certified family nurse practitioner and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Amelie is an expert on nurse practitioner practice and has presented hundreds of certification exam review courses and lectures on advanced pharmacology and primary care topics. Amelie is known for her informative, engaging speaking style and is an invited speaker at numerous national and state conferences every year.

Amelie has authored and co-authored 20 books for primary care providers, including Clinical Guidelines in Primary Care and Family and Adult-Gero Certification Practice Questions. She is the creative mind behind dozens of APEA products that provide educational and practice support to new and experienced NPs. C, FAANP.

Capt. James Dickens

DNP, RN, FNP-BC, FAANP

Captain James Dickens serves in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Regional Office, Office of the Secretary, Region VI Dallas, TX as the Senior Program Manager for the Office of Minority Health. He is an experienced Registered Nurse and Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over thirty years of federal healthcare experience. Capt. Dickens’ clinical experience includes Orthopedics, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Long-Term Care, and the Primary Care setting.

Capt. Dickens is a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service whose mission is to promote, protect and advance the health and safety of the Nation. He was selected to participate as a clinical team member for the Afghanistan Health Initiative (AHI) in Kabul, Afghanistan. The mission of the AHI was to improve quality of care, and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates at Rabia Balkhi Women’s Hospital in Kabul. Capt. Dickens served as a technical advisor as a member of a Commissioned Corps hospital assistance team in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and St Croix U.S. Virgin Islands.

Capt. Dickens also served as the Officer in Charge of the Commissioned Corps Ebola Response, Team 2 (76 member inter-professional team) serving at the Monrovia Medical Unit (MMU) Ebola Treatment Unit in Monrovia, Liberia-West Africa leading local MMU response efforts. Capt. Dickens has received numerous Nursing leadership and Uniformed Service awards during his career.

Jena Kesey

MSN, RN, FNP-BC, CWS

Jenna Kesey has spent her entire career dedicated to the care of the injured patient. She practiced as a staff nurse in the Trauma/Surgical Critical Care unit as an RN for 6 years prior to her current role as the Family Nurse Practitioner in the Timothy J Harnar Burn Center. In her clinical practice, Jenna cares for patients with burns, wounds, necrotizing soft tissue infections, insect and reptile envenomations, skin sloughing diseases, and complex pressure related injuries. She has many research pursuits aimed to improve critical care for this variable population.

Celia Levesque

MSN, RN, CNS-BC, NP-C, CDE, BC-ADM

Celia Levesque is an Advanced Practice Provider at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist. She received her Certified Diabetes Educator in 1986 and Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management in 2003. She treats diabetes and its related complications in patient with cancer and diabetes. She has published articles on diabetes in professional journals, a book chapter on common endocrine disorders in an Acute Care Advanced Practice textbook, and frequently speaks on diabetes to professional audiences.

Kim Peck

M.D.

Dr. Kim Peck is an Associate Professor in Family and Community Medicine in the School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Peck graduated from the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona, Program in Integrative Medicine in December 2008. Dr. Peck had pursued further education in Integrative Medicine after being chosen to work with the first Integrative Medicine Clinic for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine – the Center for Integrative and Nutritional Medicine (CINM, 2000 – 2006) and has continued to practice Integrative Medicine in the academic medicine setting. As the Medical Director for CINM, Dr. Peck developed the credentialing process for Acupuncture at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She has participated in Integrative Medicine related scholarly activity including research, CME presentations and professional presentations at local, state, national and international conferences, and publications. In 2013, the Division of Integrative Medicine was established in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Dr. Peck has served as the Assistant Director since that time including the role as Lead Faculty for the Integrative Medicine Residency Program in Family Medicine from 2014 – 2016, representing TTUHSC School of Medicine in the Clinical Working Group and as the Alternate on the Steering Committee in the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine.
